I’m trying to learn how to blog even if nobody reads, but being Jim Herbert requires striving for excellence even if nobody is paying any attention. Oy! I guess that I need to have both long thought out posts and quick hitters. Serious and humorous. Right?
Yesterday and today we spent a whirlwind 36 hours in London. In one of our silliest moments we were riding at the top of a “Hop on/Hop off” tourist bus and a regular double decker local bus was so close to us on the left that I literally could have reached out and touched the windows. Seated at the front of the bus and within reaching distance to me was a young man, early twenties with round spectacles. Christiana said, “He looks like Daniel Radcliffe.” I then, in my often inappropriately loud voice bellowed, “Halo Arry!”
He looked at us and snickered. We laughed embarrassed. And then we laughed uncontrollably for the next minute. Partially delirious with exhaustion and partially because it was really funny. At the next roundabout we caught up to the bus again and CJ noticed that he had taken his glasses off. We started laughing again. Uncontrollably! It’s the most simple moments that can become the most memorable.
I only wish I had asked him to see the lightning bolt scar or said “Stupify” 🙂
